Beauty Is More Than Skin Deep

At Hibiscus we believe that beauty is more than skin deep. We believe that what we put on our bodies is so important as we know that our skin absorbs some of the ingredients that we apply.

Take a look at our short video about the salon…

That’s why, at Hibiscus, our treatments and hair products are full of:

  • Natural ingredients
  • Organic ingredients
  • Ingredients that are not harmful

After extensive research, Kirsty discovered that although people were starting to realise that natural products were beneficial to their health, they found it hard to understand the long list of ingredients displayed on packaging. Tropic products have information printed in plain English on each individual item and by encouraging people to sample the products for themselves, it’s easy to realise how safe and effective they are. Tropic have an ever expanding range of delicious beauty products, from daily facials, body pampering and amazing fragrance, to stunning mineral makeup solutions. The range is growing all the time including a new line of organic sun care products.

At Hibiscus, we support British manufacturers and use British products whenever we can:

  • Natural Elements from Hartlebury Worcestershire
  • Skin Sincere from Shropshire
  • Tropic Pure Plant Skin Care from Surrey
  • REM Salon Furniture from Lancashire

Meet The Team

Salon Owner - Kirsty Broadbent

Kirsty is a trained nurse and continues to work supporting Deaf adults with learning disabilities. In 2013, Kirsty became an Ambassador for ‘Tropic Pure Plant Skincare’ - she was inspired by the natural and organic beauty products created by the very passionate CEO of Tropic, Suzie Ma (a contestant on the hit show ‘The Apprentice’ and now in partnership with Sir Alan Sugar).

Kirsty’s passion for natural and organic beauty products, combined with her ongoing commitment to offer opportunities to adults with learning disabilities, inspired her to develop a salon where she could combine the two. At the beginning of 2016 an opportunity arose to take on premises in Lowesmoor and Hibiscus was born.

Kirsty runs pamper evenings and offers consultations, mini-facials and manicures & pedicures.

Senior Stylist - Emma Kelly

Emma has extensive experience as a hairdresser. She started her career with Steiner, then Regis and then later worked at Lacore in Merry Hill. Over the years, Emma has enjoyed helping her partner run their own salon; Crucial Hair in Redditch. Emma has worked for David & Kirsty for 12 years as a support worker but has now kindly agreed to share her knowledge and expertise with the Hibiscus team.

Senior Stylist - Jess Lytollis

Jess started her career as a hairdresser at the age of 14. She trained with Francesco Group, in Stafford, where she learnt her knowledge and skills. Jess continued to develop her hairdressing skills at ‘Eclipse’ - a local salon in Eccleshall. After a few years, Jess took a break from hairdressing to try ‘Camp America’. Jess enjoyed the experience so much that, when she came back to England she enrolled on an Outdoor Adventure Sports course at college. She tried out the Outdoor Instructor lifestyle for a while but found that she missed hairdressing, so got a job at Revive, where she fell in love with hairdressing again.

Jess moved to Worcestershire at the start of 2016 where she worked at Andrea Beers salon in Kidderminster. Jess says that she is now looking forward to spreading her wings at Hibiscus Hair and Beauty and progressing her career further.

Beauty Therapist - Alisha Barnett

Alisha is a level 3 qualified beauty therapist. Her journey started at Chloe’s Skin and Beauty as a first-year apprentice. She then furthered her knowledge and began her level 3 beauty therapy course. Her passion for beauty and hair started from a young age. However, whilst working as a qualified hairdresser at Andrea Beers she discovered that her true passion lay with the beauty side of things. Alisha moved to Hibiscus to broaden her career and take on new challenges.

Reflexologist - Louise Driskel MAR HDipCT (VTCT)

Louise has completed a Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology at Cheltenham School of Complimentary Therapy & Beauty followed by a diploma at The London School of Reflexology in Pregnancy and Pre-Pregnancy as she has a particular interest in fertility issues. Louise has also gained a diploma in Health & Nutrition and is currently studying for a diploma in common health issues; these include Parkinson’s disease, dementia, stroke patients, arthritis and sensory issues. Louise is a member of the Association of Reflexology and the CThA. Louise hopes to be offering Indian Head Massage and LVL Lashes as part of her repertoire soon!
